Let it Snow!
Winter Regionals 2018.
The first day of winter regionals, you'd expect it to be snowing right? Oh no, we had beautiful sunshine despite the temperature being far from exotic, we had two outdoor arenas and use of the gorgeous Duke's Hall indoors. All the ponies had shed their winter coats and they were certainly feeling fresh when they came down the centre line.
We had the music classes indoors and Elementary outside, our sponsored rider Lily Laughton bought her beautiful chestnut gelding Armada Cadillac, unfortunately it wasn't their day and Lily made the decision to retire as Cadillac felt he would be much better suited to doing PSG with his flying changes..
And then came the snow.. As a child we always got excited at the prospect of having snow, as it meant snow day/day off school! But when you're an adult it means that you still have to go to work, or as in our riders cases, you still have to ride!
We had to take it in turns as to who shot outside as the temperature had an adverse effect on our cameras, they got too cold and stopped working, so whoever was shooting in the indoor had the upper hand - so we thought. As the sides of the Duke's Hall are open this meant that the snow got blown inwards towards the spot where we were stood shooting! So wherever we stood we couldn't escape the snowflakes, despite this, we still managed some stunning snow filled photographs.
